A Korean Garment Factory to Hire 600 New Workers

A Yangon based Korean garment factory, Yangon Pan-Pacific International Co., Ltd (YPI), announced today that it will be hiring 600 new workers while many factories and firms are struggling to keep employees.

The factory said that it is hiring new staff as it is planning to expand new product lines. According to the announcement, the basic salary starts from MMK5,200, which is for helpers and the salary will higher depending on the skills of the operators. Other beneficiaries include ferry service, social security services, annual bonus and other allowance.

The new positions are operator, leader, supervisor, chief supervisor, Q.C, Q.A, CAD and Pattern.

Yangon Pan-Pacific International Co., Ltd has been operating in Myanmar for over 20 years and employed 1,400 staff.

Myanmar’s garment sector has been struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic and military coup. The Irrawaddy reported in November 2021 that over 60 garment factories temporarily shut down due to the impact of the pandemic and political situation leaving up to 200,000 workers unemployed.
