AIA, one of the foreign insurance companies licensed to provide life insurance in Myanmar, celebrated its centennial anniversary with a charity run in the Unesco World Heritage city of Bagan on November 17.
The “AIA Go! For Light” run organized by AIA Myanmar saw 200 participants compete over a scenic 5 k.m. course set amongst the ancient city’s historic pagodas.
“The AIA Group is celebrating its centennial around the Asia Pacific region with unique events, and in Myanmar we wanted to do something special and contribute to the community,” said AIA Myanmar CEO Nhon Ly.
“We organized our first “AIA Go! For Light” charity run and event culminating in the donation of 100 solar panels in solidarity with the village communities in need. Bagan was selected as the site for the occasion because it is one of the most cherished places in Myanmar, a historic land close to the hearts of many here.”
The solar panels were donated to 100 households in Tuywing Tai Village, which has no access to electricity.
“Our Centennial is not merely an opportunity to celebrate. It is also an opportunity to thank all who have contributed to our growth and success over so many years,” said AIA Asia Pacific Regional CEO Tan Hak Leh. “We would like to give thanks to our customers for their loyalty and the trust they place in us as well as to the local communities where we live and work for their continued support and involvement with AIA.”
The Bagan charity run was the last of a series of events around the region hosted by AIA to commemorate its centennial anniversary.
AIA Group and its subsidiaries comprise the largest independent publicly listed pan-Asian life insurance group. It has a presence in 18 markets including wholly-owned branches and subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Mainland China, Korea, the Philippines, Australia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, New Zealand, Macau, Brunei and Cambodia, a 97 percent subsidiary in Sri Lanka and a 49 percent joint venture in India.
In April 2019, the group was granted approval to operate in Myanmar through its wholly-owned subsidiary, AIA Myanmar.

အဆိုပါအခမ်းအနားတွင် AIA GO! FOR LIGHTဟူ၍ ၅ကီလိုမီတာရှိ အပြေးပြိုင်ပွဲကို ပုဂံတွင်ရှိသည့် ထီးလိုမင်းလို ဘုရားဝင်းအတွင်း ကျင်းပပြုလုပ်ခဲ့ပြီး ယင်းတာတိုပြိုင်ပွဲကို ပြိုင်ပွဲဝင် အယောက်၂၀၀ ပါဝင်ယှဉ်ပြိုင်ခဲ့ကြောင်း သိရသည်။
“ AIA group အနေနဲ့ နှစ်တစ်ရာပြည့်အခမ်းအနား တွေကို အာရှပစိဖိတ်ဒေသတွေ မှာ တမူထူးခြားတဲ့ပုံစံနဲ့ ကျင်းပခဲ့ပြီး ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံမှာလည်းထူးခြားတဲ့ အရာတစ်ခုခုကို ပြည်သူလူထုဆီပြန်လည်ပေးအပ်ချင်ပါတယ်။ ကျွန်တော်တို့တွေက ပထမဦးဆုံး ပရဟိတ အပြေးပြိုင်ပွဲဖြစ်တဲ့ “AIA GO! FOR LIGHT” အမည်ရ ၅ ကီလိုမီတာရှိတဲ့ အပြေးပြိုင်ပွဲတစ်ခုကို ကျင်းပခဲ့ပြီး လျှပ်စစ်မီးလိုအပ်နေတဲ့ ကျေးရွာတွေကိုလည်း နေစွမ်းအင်သုံးဆိုလာပြား ၁၀၀ ကို ပေးအပ်လှူဒါန်း တပ်ဆင်ပေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အခုလိုရာပြည့်အခမ်းအနားကို ပုဂံမှာရွေးချယ်ပြီးပြုလုပ်ရတဲ့ အကြောင်းအရင်းကတော့ ပုဂံဟာ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံရဲ့ မြတ်နိုးစရာကောင်းတဲ့နေရာတွေထဲကနေရာတစ်ခု ဖြစ်ပြီးတော့ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံသားတွေရဲ့ နှလုံးသားနဲ့ အနီးစပ်ဆုံးဖြစ်တဲ့ သမိုင်းဝင်နေရာတစ်ခုဖြစ်လို့ပါပဲ” ဟု AIA Myanmar ၏ CEO ဖြစ်သူ Mr. Nhon Ly (Luc) က ပြောသည်။
ထို့နောက် AIAအနေဖြင့် တူရွင်းတိုင်ကျေးရွာမှ လျှပ်စစ်မီးမရရှိသေးသည့် အိမ်ခြေ ၁၀၀ အတွက် နေရောင်ခြည် စွမ်းအင်သုံးဆိုလာပြားများကိုလည်း လှူဒါန်းခဲ့ကြောင်း သိရသည်။
“AIA နှစ်တစ်ရာ ပြည့်မြောက်ခြင်းဟာ အခမ်းအနားကျင်းပဖို့ အခွင့်အရေးတစ်ခုသာ မဟုတ်ဘဲ AIA နှစ်ပေါင်းများစွာ ဖွံ့ဖြိုးတိုးတက်လာဖို့နဲ့ အောင်မြင်မှု ရရှိဖို့ ပါဝင်ဆောင်ရွက်ခဲ့သူတွေ အားလုံးကို ကျေးဇူးတင်နိုင်မယ့် အခွင့်အရေး တစ်ခုလည်း ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ AIA အပေါ် သစ္စာရှိမှုနဲ့ယုံကြည်မှုတွေအတွက်သာမက AIA နဲ့အတူ ပါဝင်ပြီး ကျွန်တော်တို့ရဲ့ ဒေသခံ ရပ်ရွာလူထုကို ထောက်ပံ့ပေးနေမှုကြောင့်လည်း ကျွန်တော်တို့ရဲ့ ဖောက်သည်တွေကို ကျေးဇူးအထူးတင်ရှိပါတယ်” ဟု AIA ၏ အာရှပစိဖိတ်ဒေသဆိုင်ရာ CEO Mr. Tan Hak Leh က ထပ်မံဖြည့်စွက် ပြောသည်။
AIA ၏ နှစ်တစ်ရာပြည့် အခမ်းအနားများကို အာရှပစိဖိတ်ဒေသများတွင်လည်း ကျင်းပလျက်ရှိပြီး မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင်ကျင်းပသည့်ပွဲသည် ၂၀၁၉ ခုနှစ်တွင် ကျရောက်သော နှစ်တစ်ရာပြည့် အထိမ်းအမှတ်ပွဲများ၏ နောက်ဆုံးပိတ် ပွဲတော်ဖြစ်သည်။
AIA Group Limited နှင့် ကုမ္ပဏီခွဲများတွင် လွတ်လပ်သည့် အများနှင့်သက်ဆိုင်သောကုမ္ပဏီကြီးဖြစ်သော Pan-Asian အသက်အာမခံအဖွဲ့ဖြင့် ဖွဲ့စည်းထားပြီး အာရှ-ပစိဖိတ်ရှိ ဈေးကွက် ၁၈ ခုတွင် လုပ်ငန်းများဆောင်ရွက်လျက်သည်။
မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင်လည်း AIA က ရာနှုန်းပြည့်လုပ်ကိုင်ခွင့်ရရှိသော ကုမ္ပဏီခွဲအဖြစ် ဆောင်ရွက်ရန် ၂၀၁၉ ခုနှစ်၊ ဧပြီလတွင် ရွေးချယ်ခံခဲ့ရပြီး ၂၀၁၃ ခုနှစ်မှစတင်ကာ ကိုယ်စားလှယ်ရုံးထားရှိကာ အာမခံလုပ်ငန်းဆိုင်ရာ အသိပညာပေးလုပ်ငန်းများကိုလုပ်ကိုင်လျက်ရှိသည်။
