Australian travel and tour companies APT and Travelmarvel have jointly announced that they are expanding their range into Myanmar with the addition of two new cruise ships.
Each brand will have one cruise ship.
The APT cruise ship, the RV Samatha has cabins with 30 suites from 27sqm to 48.7sqm with new balconies, swimming pool, air conditioned lounge area on the sundeck, an observation deck, two restaurants – a main restaurant and a private fine dining restaurant, and a spa and massage facility.
Travelmarvel’s new ship the RV Princess Panhwar will be a 36-suite vessel, offering premium four star river cruising with cabins which are 26sqm to 42.5sqm in size, an air conditioned lounge area on the sundeck, a main restaurant and a spa and massage facility.
The river ships are being built in Yangon in partnership with APT, Travelmarvel and the Maing Fong Company.
APT general manager for sales and marketing, Debra Fox, said that the new ships were brought in because of booming interest in Myanmar.
“We already offer river cruising in Burma for APT guests aboard the AmaPura and although this is our first year, sales have already exceeded expectation,” Fox said.
“Burma is clearly a place that our guests from Australia, New Zealand and the UK are keen to explore and so to build and introduce our very own river cruise ships for both of our respective APT and Travelmarvel brands in this emerging destination is incredibly exciting.”
