Asia Tech Image to Start Production in Myanmar

Taiwan-based contact image sensor (CIS) module maker Asia Tech Image is installing equipment at a newly constructed factory in Myanmar and expects to start production with an initial annual capacity of 3 million CIS modules in early 2015, company president Iris Wu said.

Contact Image Sensors (CIS) are a relatively recent technological innovation in the field of optical flatbed scanners.

The firm currently has an annual production capacity of 24 million CIS modules.

The Myanmar factory will mainly supply clients in the Southeast Asia region, especially factories set up by international MFP (multi-function peripheral) vendors in Thailand, Wu said.
