Asian Countries Meet to Share Remote Sensing Technology

Representatives of Asian countries have met in Myanmar’s capital of Naypyitaw to share technology and knowledge concerning remote sensing in a move to promote development of Myanmar on a wider scale, official sources said.

The Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS)-2014, which was held last week, gathered experts from 26 countries, while 280 research papers were presented to the conference for discussions.

The research papers deal with environment, natural resources, forestry, geology, agriculture, livestock breeding, minerals, gems, oil and gas, climate change and natural disaster.

Besides these, papers related to transport and urbanisation, land survey and aerospace technology, satellite and sensing technology were also covered.

The participating companies included geographical information companies, land survey and land management companies, aerospace and aviation companies and IT companies.
