German automaker BMW has introduced its BMW 2 Series Active Tourer cars in Myanmar.
“The Active Tourer is aimed more at the middle class. BMWs were a luxury for the very rich in the past, and now the company has decided to introduce this car to the market,” said U Chan Mya, managing director of Prestige Automobile, the authorised BMW importer and dealer in Myanmar.
“BMW 2 Series Active Tourer has compact dimensions on the outside, lots of interior space, sporty performance and ample carrying capacity,” he added.
The roomy interior provides comfortable seating for five people. The price for the customer to get the car in hand is $79,900 including all fees to the customs department, commercial tax and Department of Transport tax.
U Chan Mya explained that 2 Series Active Tourer is the first dynamic front wheel drive model in the history of BMW and the others produced were rear wheel drive models.
The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer comes with 3-year warranty and 3-year maintenance service. It has automatic controlling and adjusting system that can adapt to the roads of Myanmar, the carmaker said. 92/95 RON petrol can be used as fuel.
Currently, 30 Active Tourer cars have arrived in Myanmar and 50 are expected to be sold in 2015, according to BMW, which sells 11 models in Myanmar. In total, BMW aims to sell 200 cars in 2015 in Myanmar.
