Britain-based Global Agriculture Joint Venture Co. will invest $115 million in establishing the private teak plantation and producing teak, according to the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration.
The company will invest in establishing teak plantations and produce teak in Okkan Forest Reserve number 38, 39, 40, and 41 in Taik Kyi Township, Yangon Region and Thonesel Forest Reserve number 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 74, and 41 in Tharyarwady Township, Bago Region.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation has stopped timber production and imposed ten years ban on the production of teak and hardwood from Bago mountain ranges.
Moreover, the ministry is implementing forest replantation and reservation projects in Regions and States. The ten-year project from 2017-18 Fiscal Year to 2026-27 Fiscal Year in two five-year terms.
So far, the agriculture and forestry sectors have received a total of $130 million foreign direct investment this year with Global Agriculture Joint Venture Co.’s $115 million projects being the biggest.

သယံဇာတနှင့် သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင် ထိန်းသိမ်း ရေးဝန်ကြီးဌာန အနေဖြင့် ၂ဝ၁၆-၂ဝ၁၇ ဘဏ္ဍာ နှစ်တွင် သစ်ထုတ်လုပ်ခြင်းကိုရပ်ဆိုင်းခဲ့ပြီး ပဲခူးရိုးမ၌ ကျွန်းနှင့် သစ်မာ ထုတ်လုပ်ခြင်းကို ၁ဝနှစ်တာရပ်နားခဲ့သည်။
ထို့အပြင် မကွေးတိုင်းဒေသကြီး အပါအဝင် တိုင်းဒေသကြီးနှင့် ပြည်နယ် အလိုက် သစ်တောစိုက်ခင်းများ တည်ထောင်ခြင်းနှင့် သဘာဝတော များ ပြုစုထိန်းသိမ်းစောင့်ရှောက် ခြင်းလုပ်ငန်းများပါဝင်သည့် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ သစ်တောများ ပြန်လည်တည်ထောင်ခြင်း စီမံကိန်းကို ၂ဝ၁၇- ၂ဝ၁၈ဘဏ္ဍာနှစ်မှ ၂ဝ၂၆-၂ဝ၂၇ ဘဏ္ဍာနှစ်ထိ ၁ဝနှစ်တာကာလ အတွင်း ငါးနှစ်ကာလ နှစ်ခုခွဲ၍ ဆောင်ရွက် လျက်ရှိကြောင်း အဆိုပါ ဝန်ကြီးဌာနမှ သိရသည်။
ယခုနှစ်အတွင်း လယ်ယာနှင့်သစ်တော ကဏ္ဍ တွင် နိုင်ငံခြားရင်းနှီးမြှုပ်နှံမှု လေးခုရှိပြီး စုစုပေါင်း ရင်းနှီးမြှုပ်နှံမှုပမာဏ ဒေါ်လာသန်း ၁၃ဝ ရှိကြောင်း ဗြိတိန်နိုင်ငံသည် ဒေါ်လာ ၁၁၅သန်း ဖြင့် သစ်တောကဏ္ဍအတွက် အများဆုံးမြှုပ်နှံ ထားကြောင်း ရင်းနှီးမြှုပ်နှံမှုနှင့် ကုမ္ပဏီများ ညွှန်ကြားမှုဦးစီးဌာနမှ သိရသည်။
