Phandeeyar, a local digital innovation hub, has announced plans to develop a website and mobile application to help display census data easily.
“Current data is not easy to understand because it consists only of tables and numbers. If it can be displayed using charts and maps, it will be more convenient to study. So we will establish the website and also develop an application to enable people to study [the data] easily,” said U Yan Naung Oak, program manager of Phandeeyar.
“We are starting now. We hope that the website will be ready in one or two months,” he added.
Official census data was released in May.
United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Myanmar Information Management are also participating in this program.
Phandeeyar supports local information technology groups and developers to enable the development of applications and websites.
