European Union will provide EUR 5 million for promoting integrated land use planning and management in Myanmar, according to U Henry Van Thio, Vice President of Myanmar, who chairs the National Land Use Council.
The project will take four years and the EU will provide its funding through FAO.
The government is planning to utilize the funding to realize the goals of national land policy: sustainable land management for the interest of people, to protect cultural heritage sites, environment, and natural resources. Moreover, it will also use the funding in developing better policy and legal frameworks, integrated land-use projects, and management.
The council has signed a Record of Discussion (RoD) with the European Union (EU) and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation on January 27, 2020.
The council was formed per order no. 15 issued on January 17, 2018, by the Union Cabinet.

အမျိုးသား မြေအသုံးချမှုကောင်စီကို ပြည်ထောင်စုအစိုးရ အဖွဲ့၏ ၂၀၁၈ ခုနှစ် ဇန်နဝါရီ လ ၁၇ ရက် ၊ ရက်စွဲပါ အမိန့်ကြော်ငြာစာအမှတ် ၁၅ ဖြင့်ဖွဲ့စည်းခဲ့ရာ အချိန်ကာလအားဖြင့် ၂ နှစ် ကျော်ကြာမြင့် ခဲ့ပြီဖြစ်သည်။
