More than 90,000 jobs were created by foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in Myanmar during the fiscal ended March 31, state-run media reported.
The English daily New Light of Myanmar, which is widely regarded as a government mouthpiece, said total accumulated FDI from 26 investor countries as of the end of last fiscal was $36.161 billion.
China tops the list of investors with $14.159 billion, followed by Hong Kong with $6.407 billion and Singapore with $4.185 billion, the paper said.
The oil and gas sector attracted the most FDI with $13.630 billion, followed by electrical power with $13.254 billion and manufacturing with $ 2.785 billion, the paper added.
