Dubai-based budget airline flydubai has launched daily direct flights between Yangon International Airport (YIA) and the United Arab Emirates city. The December 10 inaugural flight marked the airline’s first scheduled flight to a Southeast Asian city.
Flydubai will take over the Dubai-Yangon direct flights from Emirates and will increase its flight frequency between the two cities to daily from four flights per week.
The airline will utilize 174-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft for the flights, which take approximately 5 hours and 35 minutes.
During the first 10 months of 2019, Yangon International Airport received 4,665 passengers of Middle Eastern nationalities, an 8 percent growth over the same period last year, according to data from the Ministry of Hotels & Tourism.
“Yangon International Airport plays an essential role in the tourism development of Myanmar. The airport is a gateway to international travel,” U Phyo Min Thein, Chief Minister of Yangon, said at an inaugural ceremony for the service at the YIA’s Terminal 1.
“Myanmar is becoming a popular tourist destination due to its pristine beaches, natural topography, deep culture and astounding Buddhist temples and monasteries,” said Jose Angeja, chief operating officer of Yangon Aerodrome, the airport’s operator.
Since commencing operations in June 2009, flydubai has created a network of more than 90 destinations, and over the next decade the airline will see its fleet grow by up to 296 aircraft.

ခရီးသည် ၁၇၄ ဦး သယ်ယူဝန်ဆောင်မှှုပေးနိုင်မည့် နောက်ဆုံးပေါ် Boeing 737-800 အမျိုးအစားလေယာဉ်ကို အသုံးပြုသွားမည်ဖြစ်ပြီး ပျံသန်းချိန် ခရီးစဉ်သည် ပျှမ်းမျှ ၅ နာရီနှင့် ၃၅ မိနစ် ကြာမြင့်မည်ဖြစ်သည်။ နေ့စဉ် ခရီးစဉ်များအဖြစ် ဒူဘိုင်း မှ ရန်ကုန်သို့ မြန်မာစံတော်ချိန် ၁၈ နာရီ ၃၅ မိနစ်တွင် ရောက်ရှိမည်ဖြစ်ပြီး ၁၉ နာရီ မိနစ် ၄၀ တွင် ပြန်လည်ထွက်ခွာမည်ဖြစ်သည်။ ထို့ပြင် ဒူဘိုင်းမှ ရန်ကုန်သို့ မြန်မာစံတော်ချိန် ၁၂ နာရီ ၄၅ မိနစ်တွင် ရောက်ရှိမည်ဖြစ်ပြီး ၁ နာရီ ၅၀ မိနစ်တွင် ရန်ကုန်မှ ဒူဘိုင်းကို ပြန်လည်ထွက်ခွာမည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း သိရသည်။
ရန်ကုန်အပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာ လေဆိပ်သို့ အရှေ့အလယ်ပိုင်း မှ ခရီးသည်များ နှစ်စဉ် ဝင်ရောက်မှှုများပြားနေပြီး ယခုနှစ်တွင် အရှေ့အလယ်ပိုင်းမှ ခရီးသည် ၄၆၆၅ ဦးကို လက်ခံဝန်ဆောင်မှှုပေးနိုင်ခဲ့ကြောင်း သိရသည်။ ယခုနှစ် အရှေ့အလယ်ပိုင်းမှ ခရီးသည်ဝင်ရောက်မှှုသည် ယခင်နှစ် ခရီးသည် ဝင်ရောက်မှှုပမာဏနှင့် နှိှုင်းယှဉ်ပါက ၈ ရာခိုင်နှှုန်း တိုးတက်လာခဲ့ကြောင်း သိရသည်။
