There would be no environmental impacts of the natural gas pipelines in Myanmar, a high ranking energy official said.
Deputy Minister for Energy U Aung Htoo made the remarks at the ongoing session of the parliament’s Lower House in Nay Pyi Taw recently in response to a question about public safety concern over possible leak of the natural gas pipelines laid in the country.
“Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) was installed to tackle the possible leak problem as quick as possible,” he told the parliament.
With foreign investment, several natural gas pipelines has been laid and are being laid in Myanmar including Myanmar-Thai and Myanmar-China gas pipelines as well as domestic ones.
