Imaspro to Begin Exports to Myanmar Next Year

Malaysian manufacturer of pesticides and plant micro nutrients Imaspro Corp Bhd will begin exporting to Myanmar to tap Myanmar’s rapid growth in the agricultural sector.

Managing director Tong Chin Hen said the export penetration to Myanmar would be the company’s primary focus for the next financial year, Malaysian media reported.

“We have seen the demand for our products perform well in countries such as Vietnam.

“Myanmar is a growing market and given the high agriculture growth, the country has the similar potentials,” he was quoted as saying after the company’s annual general meeting.

Tong said the company has already obtained licence three years ago from local authorities to introduce its products namely weed killer, insect and fungus pesticides into Myanmar.

Thirty percent of global food crop is destroyed by insects and fungus every year hence the demand for pesticides will always be sustainable, he said.
