Mandalay to Improve Transport System

The government of Mandalay division will cooperate with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to improve the transportation system of Mandalay city, said transport minister U Kyaw Than.

Currently, technicians from ADB and the regional government are in the planning stages to establish special bus lines.

“In Mandalay, motorbikes are more prevalent than cars. There are still no special buses here. So, we must improve the transportation system within three to five years, otherwise there will be a problem with heavy traffic,” U Kyaw Than said.

Currently, Mandalay has 44 bus lines.
