Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) on August 14 approved three new investments in the manufacturing sector, hotel and tourism sector, and service sector as well as investment expansion from three exiting investments totaling $20.057 million and over K158 billion creating 750 jobs.
U Thaung Tun, Union Minister of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, who is also the president of MIC, said that Myanmar is trying to meet the foreign direct investment target for this fiscal year, which is $5.8 billion.
As of June since the beginning of this fiscal year, the country has received over $4.336 billion FDI.
The biggest investors in Myanmar as of the end of July this year are Singapore, China, and Thailand.
