Myanmar Post and Telecommunications (MPT) announced that customers may experience disruptions in sending text, using internet services, topping up the pre-paid accounts and checking balances from the midnight to 6:00am on January 25, 28 and 29 as the telecom operators will update its online charging system during that time.
Users of MPT’s GSM and WCDMA SIM cards may be affected when using the above functions in the mentioned period but the voice call service will remain fully operational without any disturbances, MPT said.
MPT said it also updated its systems on January 7 during the low use activity hours between 12:00am and 6:00am in which texting, data using and phone credit related functions for GSM and WCDMA SIMs suffered some disruptions but the voice call function remained the same.
MPT’s GSM mobile network in Yangon had some mechanical malfunction in the evening of January 2 after 6:30pm causing some problems for phone calls but the error was fixed by 7:00pm on the same evening, MPT said.
