The volume of bilateral trade between Myanmar and China dropped by $209 million during January 23-February 18 compared to the same period last year as the coronavirus outbreak continued to seriously hamper the flow of trade.
“The export sectors hardest hit by the virus outbreak are watermelons, muskmelons, fruits, vegetables and fishery products,” said Dr. Than Myint, Union Minister Commerce.
In the four and a half months from the beginning of the new fiscal year to February 14, Myanmar’s foreign trade totaled $14.535 billion, a $2 billion increase compared to the same period last year. However, trade through China-Myanmar border trade posts including Muse, Chin Shwe Haw, Lel Jel and Kanpaiktee plummeted because of the virus.
The Ministry of Commerce in cooperation with the Yangon Regional Government and Yangon City Development Committee has designated places where farmers and traders can sell watermelons, muskmelons and other fruits and vegetables to the public. In addition, the Ministry is working with hotels and restaurants to try to increase domestic consumption of these crops.
The decrease in trade not only hurts the income of farmers and traders but also causes revenue losses for the country, the minister said.

”အဓိက ထိခိုက်နစ်နာမှုတွေရှိခဲ့တာက တော့ ဖရဲ၊ သခွားနဲ့ သစ်သီးဝလံတွေ ရေ ထွက်ကုန်ပစ္စည်းတွေပဲ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်”ဟု စီး ပွားရေးနှင့်ကူးသန်းရောင်းဝယ်ရေး ဝန်ကြီး ဌာန ပြည်ထောင်စုဝန်ကြီး ဒေါက်တာ သန်း မြင့်က ဆိုသည်။
၂ဝ၁၉ -၂ဝ၂ဝ ဘဏ္ဍာနှစ်အစမှ ဖေဖော် ဝါရီ ၁၄ ရက်အထိ ကုန်သွယ်မှုသည် အမေရိ ကန်ဒေါ်လာ ၁၄ ဒသမ ၅၃၅ ဘီလီယံ ကုန် သွယ်မှုပြုလုပ်နိုင်ခဲ့ပြီး ယခင်နှစ်ကာလတူနှင့် နှိုင်းယှဉ်ပါက ကန်ဒေါ်လာ ၂ ဘီလီယံ ဝန်း ကျင်ပိုမိုခဲ့သော်လည်း တရုတ် – မြန်မာနယ် စပ် ကုန်သွယ်စခန်းများဖြစ်သည့် မူဆယ် ၊ ချင်းရွှေဟော် ၊ လွယ်ကျယ်နှင့် ကန်ပိုက်တီး စခန်းတို့တွင် ကုန်သွယ်မှုထိခိုက်လျက်ရှိ သည်။
လက်ရှိတွင် စီးပွားရေးနှင့် ကူးသန်းရောင်း ဝယ်ရေး ဝန်ကြီးဌာနအနေဖြင့် ထိခိုက်နစ်နာ မူများ ရှိနေသော ဖရဲသခွားနှင့် သစ်သီးဝလံ များအတွက် ရန်ကုန်တိုင်းဒေသကြီးအစိုးရ အဖွဲ့ ၊ ရန်ကုန်မြို့တော် စည်ပင်သာယာရေး ကော်မတီတို့ဖြင့် ပူးပေါင်းကာ လွယ်ကူစွာ ရောင်းချနိုင်ရန် မြေနေရာများ ပြုလုပ်ပေး လျက်ရှိကြောင်း သိရသည်။ ထို့ပြင် ပြည် တွင်းစားသုံးမှုများ ပိုမိုမြင့်မားလာစေရန် ဟိုတယ်လုပ်ငန်းရှင်များ၊ စားသောက်ဆိုင် လုပ်ငန်းရှင်များတို့ဖြင့်တွေ့ဆုံကာ ပိုမိုရောင်း ချနိုင်ရန် စီစဉ်ဆောင်ရွက်လျက်ရှိကြောင်း စီးပွားရေးနှင့် ကူးသန်းရောင်းဝယ်ရေး ဝန်ကြီးဌာန ပြည်ထောင်စုဝန်ကြီး ဒေါက်တာ သန်းမြင့်က ပြောသည်။
ယခုကဲ့သို့ ထိခိုက်ဆုံးရှုံးမှုများသည် လုပ် ငန်းရှင်များအနေဖြင့် ဝင်ငွေများထိခိုက် သည့် နည်းတူနိုင်ငံတော်အနေဖြင့်လည်း အခွန်အကောက်ရငွေများ ထိခိုက်ဆုံးရှုံးမှု များ ဖြစ်ပေါ်လျက်ရှိကြောင်း သိရသည်။
