Myanmar, Singapore to Cooperate in Construction Sector

The Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Association will cooperate with Singapore Institute of Building Limited (SIBL) to promote the building and engineering construction technology in the country.

The two associations signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on support of construction technologies at the annual anniversary of MCEA held at the Myanmar Convention Center, Xinhua reported.

A three-day construction exhibition “BuildTech Yangon 2014” was also jointly organised by Sphere Exhibits Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holding Co Ltd and MCEA.

The exhibition, designed for investors and developers, and leading architects and construction companies, was aimed at bringing advanced construction technologies to Myanmar and helping overcome the shortage of skilled workers through training programs.

MCEA has signed an agreement with South Korean entrepreneurs in Seoul this year to carry out bilateral technical cooperation between the two countries.
