Ooredoo Myanmar has launched a logo design competition in a bid to kick off the local chapter of the global networking forum Mobile Monday (MoMo).
Earlier in March, the telecoms firm introduced MobileMonday in Myanmar through its Ideabox programme.
Open to all people in Myanmar, Ooredoo said the challenge is to design a MobileMonday logo that is reflective of local Myanmar customs and values.
The winning logo will earn its designer K500,000 ($515) and a new iPad.
Ooredoo said MobileMonday is expected to bring a range of benefits to Myanmar, including helping to foster an innovation platform within the mobile sector, facilitating industry networking between small and large companies and individuals, bridging partnership exchanges between domestic and international organisations, and presenting innovative visions, trends, studies and forecasts from the mobile marketplace.
Ross Cormack, CEO of Ooredoo Myanmar, said bringing concepts like MobileMonday to Myanmar “will pay dividends for the ICT sector and wider economy for years to come.”
MoMo is an open community platform of mobile industry visionaries, developers and influential individuals fostering brand neutral cooperation and cross-border P2P business opportunities through live networking events to demo products, share ideas and discuss trends from both local and global markets.
