Ooredoo Myanmar Wins Sitecore Award

Ooredoo Myanmar has own the overall award at the inaugural Sitecore Experience Awards Asia 2014 for its bilingual website that was built by Avanade and Accenture.

Denmark-based Sitecore, a customer experience management company that provides web content management and multichannel marketing automation software, gives the award to Sitecore customers and partners who have used the Sitecore Experience Platform.

This year’s awards featured a record number of categories, with Sitecore customers and solution partners battling over a total of 11 awards. This included three marketing specialist categories, one business results category, Best Japanese Website and the overall Sitecore Experience Award.

Ooredoo Myanmar took the overall Sitecore Experience Award, along with its Sitecore Solution collaborators Avanade, a business technology solutions and managed services provider, and Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company.

Sitecore said Ooredoo Myanmar won the award for “its use of the Sitecore Experience Platform to build a marketing portal for both its consumer and business divisions.”

“Their website uses responsive design to adapt the site for any device, whether it is a PC, tablet or mobile phone. With a choice of Myanmar and English language options, the site uses templates and sub-components for content management, and also features social media integration,” the firm said in a statement.

Ooredoo Myanmar broke through the one million customer milestone within the first month of going live in Myanmar last year in August.

“Sitecore Experience Platform was a good fit for our initial launch related online presence. We are quite pleased so far with the outcome of this dual language corporate portal delivery (Burmese and English) from Accenture and Avanade,” said Rui Nobrega, IT Director at Ooredoo Myanmar.

“Using the Sitecore Experience Platform has successfully enabled Ooredoo’s digital business users to take control of their digital communications and realise results. It has also accelerated time to market through process efficiencies in terms of authoring and content lifecycle management,” said Kevin Wo, Avanade senior vice president and general manager for ASEAN.
