State-run Myanmar Pearl Enterprise is to sell its pearl lots next month at an expo in a bid to attract more foreign buyers.
The Myanmar Pearl Exposition will take place at Maniyadanar Jade Hall in Naypyitaw from July 22 to 24.
“Preparing pearl lots has been almost finished. After that we will determine the prices. On the 22nd we will invite tenders from local and international pearl traders at the expo,” said Daw Mya Mya Win, Marketing Manager from Myanmar Pearl Enterprise.
“Pearl price varies depending on the quality of the lot. However, the price of a single lot will be at least €2,000. The price may rise if lots are auctioned,” she added.
A total of 315 lots will be sold by the government-run enterprise. Private local and joint venture firms will also be invited to sell pearls at the event.
