Southeast Asia-focused online luxury sales company Reebonz said it has launched its new concept store in Myanmar to tap the burgeoning demand for designer products.
The luxury retailer opened the store in Golden City, a Singapore-led luxury real estate development project in Yangon.
Reebonz said by serving the needs of wealthy Yangonites it hopes to get a better understanding of the local trends and fashion scene, in line with its long-term goals.
“We see this as a great opportunity to introduce people to the brand and give them access to luxury,” said Daniel Lim, co-founder and head merchandiser of Reebonz.
“With the fast pace of economic development of Myanmar and Yangon, we believe that this is the right time for us to expand our footprint into Myanmar. The Reebonz Concept Store will be the beginning of many … initiatives Reebonz will launch in Myanmar.”
The e-commerce company provides online luxury shopping service for its members and claims all its products are “guaranteed 100 percent authentic, sourced from the most famous fashion houses worldwide.”
Jeffrey Lu, spokesperson and shareholder representative for Golden City, said, “We are confident that Reebonz will transform Myanmar’s luxury market, which fits perfectly with Golden City’s mission…”
