Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association is set to undergo the fourth qualification test for its lab in March as part of its bid to obtain International Rubber Association certification.
The association’s lab passed the first three tests and passing the fourth will ensure that it is certified to check rubber quality.
“We have to undergo four tests and will get the certification only when we pass all tests. If we fail, we have to start over. We failed in previous years and had to do it over from the beginning. We have passed three tests and will get the certification once we pass this one,” said U Khaing Myint, secretary of the association.
When undergoing tests, the candidate lab’s results needs to match results from five other labs. The association is putting a lot of efforts into getting certified as Myanmar’s rubber exports are receiving below-market prices due to the lack of recognized quality and standard certification.
“When selling in the market, our rubber products do not get market prices. Sometimes the offer price for local rubber is $350 lower than market price. So we need to have certification for our lab,” U Khaing Myint added.
Once certified, producers will need to focus on quality over quantity to ensure that their exports get the market price, allowing traders to offer local farmers better prices.
Currently, the Ministry of Commerce operates a rubber quality testing lab and companies also have their own labs.
A ton of RSS 3 rubber is quoted at $1,560 in the international market, but local rubber gets as little as $1,300 per ton.

မြန်မာနိုင်ငံရှိ ရော်ဘာဓာတ်ခွဲခန်းများမှ ထုတ်လုပ်လိုက်သည့် အရည်အသွေး သတ်မှတ်ချက်များကို နိုင်ငံတကာမှ အသိအမှတ်ပြုစေရန် IRA မှ စစ်ဆေးမည့် နိုင်ငံတကာအသိအမှတ်ပြု ဓာတ်ခွဲခန်းလက်မှတ်အတွက် စတုတ္ထအကြိမ်မြောက် စစ်ဆေးမှုကို မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ ရော်ဘာ စိုက်ပျိုး ထုတ်လုပ်သူများအသင်းက မတ်လတွင် ဝင်ရောက်ဖြေဆိုမည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း သိရသည်။
အဆိုပါ လက်မှတ်ရရှိရန်အတွက်ရော်ဘာအသင်းအနေဖြင့် ဖြေဆိုမှု သုံးကြိမ်အောင်မြင်ထားပြီး ယခုအကြိမ်အောင်မြင်မှုရရှိပါက ရော်ဘာ အရည်အသွေးနှင့် ပတ်သက်သည့် နိုင်ငံတကာ အသိအမှတ်ပြု ဓာတ်ခွဲခန်းလက်မှတ်ရရှိမည်ဖြစ်သည်။
“ ဒီလက်မှတ်ရဖို့အတွက် ကျွန်တော်တို့ လေးကြိမ်ဖြေဆိုရပါတယ်။ လေးကြိမ်လုံးအောင်မြင်မှသာ ဒီလက်မှတ်ရတာပါ။ တစ်နေရာရာမှာ ကျမယ်ဆိုရင် အစကနေပြီး ပြန်ဖြေရတာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ အရင်နှစ်တွေတုန်းက ၃ကြိမ်မြောက်မှာ မအောင်မြင်တဲ့အတွက် အစကနေပြီး ပြန်ဖြေခဲ့ရတယ်။ အခုတော့ သုံးကြိမ်အောင်မြင်ပြီးပြီး အခုတစ်ကြိမ် အောင်မြင်ပြီဆိုတာနဲ့ လက်မှတ်ရမှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်” ဟု မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ ရော်ဘာ စိုက်ပျိုး ထုတ်လုပ်သူများအသင်းမှ အတွင်းရေးမှူး ဦးခိုင်မြင့်က MBT သို့ ပြောသည်။
ဖြေဆိုသည့်အခါတွင် IRA အသိအမှတ်ပြုထားသည့် ဓာတ်ခွဲခန်း ၅ ခုနှင့် တစ်ပြိုင်ထဲ တိုက်ဆိုင်စစ်ဆေးရမည်ဖြစ်ပြီး အဖြေတူညီမှု ရှိမှသာ အောင်မြင်ဖြစ်သည်။
အသိအမှတ်ပြု လက်မှတ်ရရှိရန် ဝင်ရောက်ယှဉ်ပြိုင်ရခြင်းမှာ ပြည်ပသို့ ရော်ဘာများ တင်ပို့ရောင်းချရာတွင် နိုင်ငံတကာ စံနှုန်း၊ အရည်အသွေး သတ်မှတ်သည့် ထောက်ခံချက် မပါရှိသည့်အတွက် ဈေးကွက်တွင် ပေါက်ဈေးထက် ဈေးနှိမ်ဝယ်ယူမှုများရှိကြောင်း သိရသည်။
“ ဈေးကွက်အထဲမှာ နိုင်ငံတကာ ပေါက်ဈေးအတိုင်းမရဘူး။ တစ်တန်ကို အမေရိကန်ဒေါ်လာ ၃၅၀လောက် ဈေးနှိမ်ပြီး ဝယ်တာကို ရင်ဆိုင်နေရတယ်။ အဲဒီတော့ ထုတ်လုပ်တဲ့ သူတွေအတွက်လည်း နစ်နာတယ်။ ဒါကြောင့် လက်မှတ်ရအောင် ဆောင်ရွက်တာပါ” ဟု ဦးခိုင်မြင့်က ထပ်မံဖြည့်စွက် ပြောသည်။
လက်မှတ်ရရှိပါက ဓာတ်ခွဲခန်းများအနေဖြင့် နိုင်ငံတကာ စံသတ်မှတ်ချက်များအတိုင်း လိုက်နာရမည်ဖြစ်ပြီး ထုတ်လုပ်သူများအနေဖြင့်လည်း အရေအတွက်ထက် အရည်အသွေးကိုသာ ဦးစားပေး၍ ထုတ်လုပ်ရမည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း သိရသည်။
ထို့ပြင် ရော်ဘာဈေးနှုန်းမှာ နိုင်ငံတကာ ပေါက်ဈေးအတိုင်းရရှိမည်ဖြစ်ပြီး ပြည်တွင်း၌ ထုတ်လုပ်ရောင်းချသူများကိုလည်း ဈေးနှုန်းပိုပေး၍ ဝယ်ယူနိုင်မည်ဖြစ်သည်။
လက်ရှိတွင် ပြည်တွင်းမှ ထုတ်လုပ်သည့် ရော်ဘာများ အရည်အသွေး စစ်ဆေးနိုင်ရန် စီးပွားရေးနှင့် ကူးသန်းရောင်းဝယ်ရေး ဝန်ကြီးဌာနမှ ဖွင့်လှစ်ထားသည့် ဓာတ်ခွဲခန်း ၁ ခု၊ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ ရော်ဘာစိုက်ပျိုး ထုတ်လုပ်သူများအသင်းမှ ဓာတ်ခွဲခန်း ၁ ခု နှင့် အခြားသော ရော်ဘာ ထုတ်လုပ်သည့် ကုမ္ပဏီများမှ ဖွင့်လှစ်ထားသည့် ဓာတ်ခွဲခန်းများရှိကြောင်း သိရသည်။
နိုင်ငံတကာဈေးကွက်တွင် RSS 3 အဆင့်ရှိ ရော်ဘာဈေးနှုန်းမှာ တစ်တန်လျှင် ကန်ဒေါ်လာ ၁၅၆၀ ပေါက်ဈေးရှိပြီး ပြည်တွင်းထွက် အဆိုပါ အမျိုးအစားရော်ဘာ တစ်တန်လျှင် ကန်ဒေါ်လာ ၁၃၀၀ ဝန်းကျင်ရရှိကြောင်း သိရသည်။
