Singapore ICT Delegation Visits Myanmar

Last week, a delegation of seven Singaporean ICT Companies, from the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) visited Myanmar to attend the third edition of the International Myanmar ICT Exhibition, which was hosted at Yangon’s Tatmadaw Hall from October 17 to 19.
During its visit, the delegation met with representatives and stakeholders involved in Myanmar’s ICT landscape and also used the opportunity to meet local businesspeople in the sector.
“IDA firmly believes in Myanmar’s growth prospects and is happy to help find ways to support the development of Myanmar’s ICT services as an enabler for economic growth,” said Steve Leonard, executive deputy chairman of IDA. “With the support of International Enterprise (IE) Singapore and the Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF), we are pleased to lead the Singapore delegation at this year’s International Myanmar ICT Exhibition. IDA has a great deal of experience in the Singapore ICT sector to share at this forum, and we also want to help Singapore ICT companies explore and develop partnerships to participate in the growth opportunities of Myanmar,” he added.
As part of the delegation, companies from a range of companies were represented, including 2C2P, Chainworld Communication, ERS Industries and Singapore Telecommunications.
The International Myanmar ICT Exhibitioin 2013 aims to work as a platform for ICT companies to explore business opportunities in Myanmar.
