Singapore to Bolster Cooperation in Legal Affairs

Myanmar and Singapore will increase cooperation in legal affairs, state media reported.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Myanmar-Singapore integrated legal exchange was signed between Director-General of Attorney-General’s Office U Kyaw Hsan and Director-General of the Legal Group at Singapore’s Ministry of Law Thian Yee Sze, in Nay Pyi Taw.

Under the MoU, Singapore will offer scholarship for master’s degrees in law at the National University of Singapore and Singapore Management University to Myanmar nationals and will give assistance for short-term trainings, legal research, on-job trainings and workshops in Myanmar.

The two countries have been cooperating in legal affairs since 1994.
