SyQic PLC, a London Stock Exchange-listed telco firm, said it has launched mobile services in Myanmar through an agreement with Blue Ocean Operations Management.
Under the deal some of its audio and video content will be made available in Myanmar through the Telenor and Ooredoo networks under its Yoomob brand.
“The core business continues to perform strongly but we continue to look for new markets and new opportunities to drive the business forward,” said Chief Executive Jamal Hassim.
The firm said its core Telco business remains strong, and its Yoomob mobile streaming service posted revenue of about £7.6 million ($11.9 million) in the nine months to end-September, compared with £4.7 million for the whole 2013.
The firm also signed a deal with Catalyst Gaming Corp Ltd, a Hong Kong based gaming provider, to provide bingo software products and additional gaming content on an exclusive gaming channel.
“We are also very pleased to be launching a social gaming channel through our agreement with Catalyst and anticipate that this will be well received by our growing global user base,” Hassim added.
