In the fiscal year 2014-15, the amount of trade through Muse exceeded estimates, U Soe Win Maung, chief officer of the Muse border trade centre, told Myanmar Business Today.
Through the centre, total trade stood at $5.11 billion, which exceeded the estimate of $4.63 billion.
The trade volume was $1.6 billion higher than last year.
U Soe Win Maung said that the target for export and import value was $2.64 billion and $1.99 billion respectively. The export target was achieved while the latter was not.
The major exports through this centre are agricultural products, and the imports are mainly fertilisers, machinery, electrical appliances and motorcycle parts.
