Myanmar Vice President U Nyan Tun said that China’s investment in Myanmar contributes to the country’s economic development.
He made the remarks at a reception in Yangon given by the Chinese Embassy in celebration of the 65th Anniversary of China’s National Day.

The vice president said under the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, Myanmar and China are maintaining a friendly relationship and close cooperation, adding that through the exchange of diplomatic visits, the relations have upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
At the event, Chinese Ambassador Yang Houlan said: “China has not only achieved national prosperity and people’s happiness, but also made significant contribution to building a more peaceful and harmonious international community.”
He said as long as China and Myanmar could work together, the two countries can write a “new chapter” in the history of the countries’ “Paukphaw” or “fraternal friendship.”
