The Yangon Regional Government has set a K10 million security deposit for those seeking an outbound tour license following a decision taken by the Yangon Regional Tourism Committee in January.
“We decided to set a framework for issuing outbound tour licenses and set a deposit amount at K10 million,” said Naw Pan Thin Zar Myo, vice president of the Yangon Regional Tourism Committee. “We don’t know how other regions and states will set their rates.”
The license fee stipulated under the Myanmar Tourism Law is K300,000 for locally-owned tour companies, $2,000 for foreign-owned companies and $1,800 for joint-venture companies.
Myanmar travelers take overseas trips with outbound tour companies and on their own. Currently, some 600 companies are licensed to provide outbound tour services, according to U Thet Lwin Toe, patron of Myanmar Tourism Association.
“No matter how people travel, it will be good for both travelers and the country if they take in good habits and good things of the countries they visit,” he said.
In 2019, tourist arrivals in Myanmar increased to around 4.3 million, boosted by the relaxation of visa rules for citizens of five European countries and Asian countries including China, India, South Korea, Hong Kong and Japan. The number of Chinese visitors, especially, has surged dramatically following visa relaxation.

“Outbound လိုင်စင်ချပေးဖို့အတွက် ရန်ကုန်တိုင်းအနေနဲ့တော့ ဘယ်လိုမူဘောင်နဲ့ချပေးမလဲ ဆိုတာ သတ်မှတ်လိုက်တယ်။ သတ်မှတ်တဲ့အခါမှာ Depositတင်ရမယ်ဆိုပြီး ကျပ်သိန်း(၁၀၀)လို့ ဆုံးဖြတ်လိုက်တယ်။ တခြားတိုင်းနဲ့ပြည်နယ်က ဘယ်လိုယူမလဲဆိုတာကတော့ မသိပါဘူး”ဟု ၎င်းကဆိုသည်။
ပြည်ပနိုင်ငံများသို့ ခရီးသွားဝန်ဆောင်မှုလုပ်ငန်းများအတွက် နိုင်ငံသားရာနှုန်းပြည့်လုပ်ကိုင်ပါက လိုင်စင်ကြေး ကျပ်သုံးသိန်း၊ နိုင်ငံခြားသားရာနှုန်းပြည့်လုပ်ကိုင်ပါက အမေရိကန်ဒေါ်လာ(၂၀၀၀)နှင့် ပြည်တွင်းပြည်ပ ဖက်စပ်လုပ်ကိုင်ပါက အမေရိကန်ဒေါ်လာ(၁၈၀၀)ပေးသွင်းရမည်ဟု မြန်မာနိုင်ငံခရီးသွား လုပ်ငန်းဥပဒေ၌ ထည့်သွင်းဖော်ပြထားသည်။
ပြည်ပသို့ခရီးသွားရာတွင် ပြည်တွင်းမှ Outbound ကုမ္ပဏီများမှတဆင့်သွားရောက်ခြင်းနှင့် ကိုယ်ပိုင်အစီအစဉ်များဖြင့် အွန်လိုင်းမှချိတ်ဆက်သွားလာခြင်းများရှိပြီး လက်ရှိတွင် Outboundလိုင်စင်ဖြင့် လုပ်ကိုင်နေသော ကုမ္ပဏီပေါင်း(၆၀၀)ခန့်ရှိသည်ဟု မြန်မာနိုင်ငံခရီးသွားလုပ်ငန်းရှင်များအသင်း၏ နာယကဖြစ်သူ ဦးသက်လွင်တိုးကဆိုသည်။
“ဘယ်လိုပဲသွားသွား။ သူများနိုင်ငံကလူနေမှုစရိုက်တွေကို အသွင်ယူမယ့်ဆိုရင် ကိုယ့်အတွက်လဲ အကျိုးရှိမယ်။ ကိုယ့်တိုင်းပြည်အတွက်လဲ အကျိုးရှိမယ်”ဟု ၎င်းကဆိုသည်။
၂၀၁၉ခုနှစ်အတွင်း ပြည်တွင်းသို့လာရောက်လည်ပတ်ကျသော နိုင်ငံခြားသားခရီးသွားဧည်သည့်ပေါင်း ၄ ဒသမ ၃သန်းခန့်ရှိပြီး ဥရောပနိုင်ငံငါးနိုင်ငံနှင့် အာရှတိုက်ရှိ တရုတ်၊ အိန္ဒိယ ၊ တောင်ကိုရီးယား ၊ ဟောင်ကောင်အပြင် ဂျပန်နိုင်ငံတို့ကို နိုင်ငံအချို့ကို ဗီဇာဖြေလျှော့မှှုပြီးနောက်တွင် ခရီးသွားဝင်ရောက်မှှုသိသိသာသာတိုးတက်လာခဲ့သည်။ ယင်းတို့အနက်မှ တရုတ်ခရီးသွားဝင်ရောက်မှှုသည် သိသိသာသာဝင်ရောက်လာပြီး အာရှတိုက်မှ ခရီးသွားများဝင်ရောက်မှှုကို သိသိသာသာ တိုးတက်လာစေခဲ့သည်။
