The five-star Zealax Hotel & Residence by Eskala is slated to open January 1, 2020, its management announced at a November 20 press conference.
The development with 100 rooms and 45 residential apartments is located on Strand Road, Ahlone Township. It offers views of Shwedagon Pagoda, Yangon River and the whole city, said director of operations Julian Comex.
With 30 years of experience in hospitality management, Mr. Comex will manage the hotel, which has an inhouse restaurant, bar, cafe, spa, swimming pool, meeting room and ballroom. Previously, he served as the first chief operating officer of Apex Hospitality Group, which introduced Tony Roma’s and Harry’s Bar & Restaurant to Yangon.
The Zealax’s sister property, Eskala Hotels & Resorts Ngwe Saung, has won the World Travel Award 2019 Myanmar and other international awards since its early-2014 opening.
The government has granted 1,704 licenses to operate hotels across the country with a total of 68,167 rooms. In Yangon alone, there are 404 hotels and motels, according to Ministry of Hotels and Tourism data.

Mr.Julian သည်နာမည်ကြီးစားသောက်ဆိုင် အမှတ်တံဆိပ်များဖြစ်သော Tony Roma’s နှင့် Harry’s Bar & Restauant တို့ကို ရန်ကုန်မြို့သို့စတင် မိတ်ဆက်ပေးခဲ့သည့် Apex Hospitality Group ၏ ပထမဦးဆုံးသော Chief Operating Officer အဖြစ် တာဝန်ထမ်းဆောင်ခဲ့ပြီး မြန်မာတို့၏ ဓလေ့ထုံးတမ်း စဉ်လာနှင့် ရင်းနှင်းကျွမ်းဝင်ပြီးသားလူတစ်ဦးဖြစ် သည်။
