Yangon Regional Government has earned over K77.8 million in 11 days from application fees that are required for purchasing land.
The announcement that the Government would be selling land sparked the interest of buyers who flocked to apply. Application forms became available on October 7 for 530 acres of government owned land. A total of 7,786 application forms were sold in 11 days. The application fee is K10,000; applicants need to bring an original and copy of their ID card.
There were complaints that the price of the applications were high. U Than, Joint Sec-retary of YCDC, stated that this was to make the application process more serious.
The Yangon Regional Government announced that they will sell the land for commer-cial and residential uses. People can apply for the land by making an offer on land plots they want to buy. The land purchase application forms will be sold until Novem-ber 8 and are available at the office of general administration, Yangon.
Out of the 7,786 applications, only 463 applicants specified the land plot they were in-terested in and made an offer on that land, according to Yangon City Development Committee.
The regional government will sell around 10,000 acres of land, located in East Dagon, North Dagon, South Dagon, Dagon Seikkan, Hlaing Thar Yar and Shwepyi Thar. The land will be sold plot by plot, and those who are allowed to buy land are not allowed to sell it for three years.

ရန်ကုန်တိုင်းဒေသကြီးအစိုးရအဖွဲ့၏ စီမံ ခန့်ခွဲမှုအောက်တွင်ရှိသည့် မြေ ၅၃ဝ ကျော် ကို ပထမအသုတ်အဖြစ် ရောင်းချခြင်းဖြစ် ပြီး ပြည်သူများကို အောက်တိုဘာ ၇ ရက်မှ စတင်ရောင်းချခဲ့ကာ ၁၁ ရက်အတွင်း လျှောက်လွှာစောင်ရေ ၇၇၈၆ စောင်ရောင်းချ ခဲ့နိုင်ခဲ့ရာ အဆိုပါ ပမာဏကို ရရှိခြင်းလည်း ဖြစ်သည်။ မြေလျှောက်ထားသူများကို သတ် မှတ်ထားသည့် စည်ပင်စရိတ်ပေးသွင်းစေ၍ အသုံးပြုခွင့်ပေးမည် ဖြစ်ကြောင်း မြေစီမံခန့် ခွဲမှုကော်မတီမှ သိရသည်။ မြေဝယ်ယူခွင့် လျှောက်လွှာတစ်စောင်လျှင် ကျပ် တစ် သောင်းနှုန်းဖြင့် ရောင်းချပြီး မှတ်ပုံတင်မူရင်း နှင့် မိတ္တူတို့ကို ပြသဝယ်ယူရမည် ဖြစ်သည်။
ထိုသို့ လျှောက်လွှာတစ်စောင်လျှင် ကျပ် တစ်သောင်းဖြင့် ရောင်းချခြင်းကို ဈေးများ သည်ဟု ပြည်သူများက ဝေဖန်မှုများရှိခဲ့ သော်လည်း မြေကွက်အပေါ်တွင် အလေး အနက်ထားစေချင်သည့်အတွက် ယခုကဲ့သို့ တစ်သောင်းကျပ်ဖြင့် ရောင်းချရခြင်းဖြစ် ကြောင်း ဦးသန်းက ပြောသည။်
မြေကွက်များကို ရန်ကုန်အရှေ့ပိုင်းခရိုင် အထွေထွေအုပ်ချုပ်ရေး ဦးစီးဌာနတွင် လျှောက်လွှာများကို အောက်တိုဘာ ၇ ရက် မှ နှစ်ပတ်တာကာလအတွင်း ဝယ်ယူနိုင်ပြီး လျှောက်ထားမှုကို နိုဝင်ဘာ ၈ ရက်တွင်နောက် ဆုံးလျှောက်ထားနိုင်ကြောင်း သိရသည်။
